How Profit First Shaped My Year

When I sat down to write this week’s blog, I decided to do a “year in review” and look back at all that 2019 brought with it. Once I put pencil to paper (well…keyboard to computer), I was amazed at just how full this year has been!

We all get so busy juggling balls, keeping commitments, and accomplishing goals. It’s easy to fall into that “get it done” mode without realizing how much is really getting done! As an ecommerce seller, I know you’re in that mode right now with the Q4 season, and most likely have no spare time at the moment to make your own list; but I encourage you to do this next month, when sales settle down a bit. I bet you will be surprised, as well!

The Year in Review – Where Profit First Has Taken Me

About this time last year, I was putting the final touches on my first book, Profit First for Ecommerce Sellers, and getting it ready to launch in early 2019. Talk about starting the year off with a bang! The launch was a great success, and I’m so happy that I’ve been able to help so many ecommerce sellers move closer to their dreams of independence and profitability through Profit First. And we’re not done yet! If you’re interested in how I got started with Profit First, check out my blog from 2016.

Along with the release of the book, I attended several important industry events throughout the year; events such as ASD Market Week (March and July), QuickBooksConnect, ProfitCon, SellerCon, and Miami Amazon Sellers. At some of these events, I was honored to be one of the speakers, which is always exciting for me! The purpose of these events is always to serve and educate ecommerce businesses, and I was able to meet so many amazing sellers, entrepreneurs, and speakers. Each event was inspirational, and I walked away from each one with a greater sense of purpose and commitment to serving the ecommerce industry.

This year also marked the 5th anniversary of bookskeep. So what did we do? We had a birthday party! My entire team team got together for a 3-day retreat to focus on ways to improve our services and celebrate our birthday. We had a great time bonding, sharing, and brainstorming ways to take our client experience to the next level in 2020!

2020 – What Lies Ahead

And now, here I am at the end of 2019, working with my team to convert my book into an online course that will be released in early 2020. As a companion piece to the book, this online course will allow ecommerce sellers to work through the Profit First steps, implement them into their own online business, and become permanent profitable!

What a great sendoff for 2019, and an exciting way to welcome 2020! I am also making plans to speak at the EcommerceFuel Conference in February in San Antonio, Texas. This is another great event that I’m proud to participate in!

As we close out this incredible year, I want to thank all my clients, colleagues, peers, coaches, mentors, team members and everyone else who touched my life this past year and made it possible for me to experience my best year yet. My commitment for 2020 is to continue to inspire others to be their best, reach their goals, and take their profits first!

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes from the bookskeep team!
